Briquettes are solid blocks of coal dust or other combustible biomass materials such as charcoal, sawdust, wood chips, peat, or paper used for fuel and firewood to start fires. Unlike other wood charcoal which is pure wood, additional ingredients are added in the process of making briquettes. Additives are primarily used to hold ingredients together to achieve small, clean blocks that are often hexagonal in shape which makes them easier to stack. Although briquettes burn longer, they don’t burn as hot as chunks of charcoal. This hexagonal briquette is cheaper than other wood charcoal. Briquettes are available for cooking and Shisha.
